Saint Paul's Episcopal Church of Lewiston
About Us
A number of years ago, the
congregation recognized a call to be
a church for the whole community.
We have worked hard to make our
building handicapped accessible.
Once we accomplished that, we
began finding ways to invite the
larger community inside our walls for
fellowship, education, and worship.
Whether it is an annual event, like our
Fourth of July Interfaith Prayer Service
and Picnic, or a one-time response
to some disaster, such as calling the
community to a prayer vigil on the
night of September 11, 2001, we try
to be a spiritual resource to the
Village and Town of Lewiston. We're
also good cooks and are happy to
welcome the community in for our
Lenten Fish Fry, our June
Lobsterfest, or Election Day Chicken
& Biscuits. Visitors experience St.
Paul's as a warm and welcoming
congregation.
Education is another important focus. We offer Sunday morning classes for children, as well
as mid-week adult education offerings. Our young people have been very involved in
Happening and other deanery or diocesan youth events and activities.
Fairchild Manor Nursing Home is located just a few blocks away from the church, and many of us have
friends and family members in residence there. For many years St. Paul's has led Sunday Services at
Fairchild Manor on the first, third, and last Sunday of each month. We take a team of members who help
pass out books, greet residents, provide music, and simply "swell the ranks" so residents who are unable
to make verbal responses nevertheless hear the service unfolding around them. We hope someday to have
enough volunteers to offer services every Sunday of the month.

On the first, third and last Sundays we, The Rector, Deacon, musicians, pianist and a violinist enjoy hosting
a worship service in the Village of Lewiston Nursing Home - Fairchild Manor.

We prepare Hymns and the Celebration of the Eucharist Rite with the Residents.

This is a true opportunity to offer compassion and a prayer with our most cherished residents.
