Saint Paul's Episcopal Church of Lewiston
The Rev. Vickie M. Suitor, Deacon

Hi!  Welcome to St. Paul's website.  I'm Deacon Vickie.

I'm a second generation Italian American, so I was raised Roman
Catholic.  However, I became disenchanted with the Roman Catholic
Church and in 1988 I decided to visit the Episcopal Church.  I felt so
comfortable that I was received as a member the following year and I
gradually became involved with all aspects of church ministry.  In the
parish I served on vestry (council) and many of our Ministry teams.  I was
the Church school coordinator, a Eucharistic Minister and Visitor, and a
Deanery and Diocesan Convention Delegate.  At the Diocesan level I
served on Diocesan Council, a number of commissions and was
employed as a Deployment Consultant and a Word & Vision Missioner.  I
also worked at several churches within the Diocese as a Parish
Administrator.  I found the more involved I became in ministry, the more I
felt called to further ministry and finally seminary.

I received a Master of Divinity from Bexley Hall Seminary in 2005 and then
completed several units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).  In 2006 I
was ordained a Transitional Deacon and was asked to serve here at St.
Paul's.  I also did some work as a hospital chaplain and through St. Paul's
I became involved with Fairchild Manor Nursing Home where I lead two
services each month.

I am very interested in the healing ministry of the church and live this out
as a Chaplain in the Order of St. Luke the Physician.

I am also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary
of the Youngstown Fire Company.
The Order of St. Luke the Physician
Our Logo is in Latin and means:  "O Jesus, be to me my Savior/Healer, my
leader, my light, my King, and my Law."

It is an ecumenical organization dedicated to the Christian healing ministry of
Jesus Christ.  We meet together to study Scripture, especially the biblical
stories of the healing miracles, as well as other books on Christian healing.
We also engage in healing prayer, often with the laying-on of hands.
See: Luke 9:1-2 and James 5:13-16
